James high-energy chocolate snack

As promised in the previous post, here is James' secret recipe for his chocolate energy snack that he took on his Man vs Mountain run. Made with ingredients that release maximum energy boosts on the go plus delicious flavours, what's not to love?

James is a man who worships at the alter of fine food. And chocolate is one of his most favourite things - in fact he has an argument that chocolate isn't even really a just a food and should be appreciated as more of a heavenly treat but to be honest we're all too busy nodding and stuffing salted caramel milk praline in our faces to listen properly. But his very valid point is: if you're going to enjoy the food (and the chocolate) you've got to do the exercise to balance it out. Not necessarily running up and down mountains but you get the picture.

And so, here is James' high energy, high flavour, super delicious chocolate snack The Mountain Master (I literally just made that name up).

  • 750g Milk Chocolate

  • 100g Whole Almonds

  • 100g Butterscotch

  • 50g Sultanas

  • 50g Cocoa Nibs

Melt the milk chocolate and stir in the rest of the ingredients until well mixed. Pour into a shallow tray and place in the fridge until chilled. When set, break into chunks, run up sizeable mountain and enjoy!
