Spoons and mince or rings with chocolate?

What is it with love and spoons? Welsh love spoons are beautiful to behold and certainly crafted with care but will such traditional tokens stir up contemporary passions on 14 February?

Perhaps jewels, chocolates and a special dinner are the modern equivalent of a love spoon.

The Owl and the Pussycat gives another vote of confidence for spoons, though even a runcible spoon cannot make mince and quince into much of a romantic feast. But at least the Pussycat keeps her eyes on the prize and gets the ring in the end.

You can’t really eat chocolate with a spoon so cast aside the cutlery and give someone you love a Salted Caramel Tasting Box, some Strawberry & Champagne Chocolate Tarts or maybe a bag of Chilli Chocolate covered Honeycomb this Valentine’s Day.

A fine piece of handmade British chocolate does not trump a jewel-encrusted ring but it just might guarantee that, by the night of the 14 Feb, you and your sweetheart will be dancing by the light of the moon, the moon, the moon. You’ll dance by the light of the moon.

(Our last order date for Valentine’s chocolates is Tuesday 10 February 2015)
